Burj Dubai/Burj Khalifa

Holding multiple world records and being over 2 times the height of the tallest building, the Burj Dubai is the place to be. This real-estate building is 2684 ft tall,  has 160 floors, and is surrounded by 500 acres of land. This incredible building was built by the same South Korean company that made the Petronas Towers and the Taipei Tower, formerly the tallest building in the world. The Burj Dubai features many things such as 4 pools, a library, numerous restauraunts, an observation tower, an outdoor fountain costing over 217 million dollars and more. Even this building’s elevators are exquisite being double decker, able to accompany a capacity of 22 people and maintaining a speed of about 40 mph. Construction underwent on September 21, 2004 and is projected to be finished upon January 4th, 2010. With all its fantastic luxuries, the Burj Dubai is really the dream home of many.

This building is the wonder of highest magnitude of man made wonders. Through many generations, this will remind the mankind, if all efforts put to gather, in the same manner, the world peace could be achieved. Alas!
To observe this magnificent building, one has a profound thought, that man is capable of achieving this and much more in one life time. My heartfelt congratulations to all those who dedicated their lives and talent to build this grandeur peace of art on the face of the earth.

I would like to inform you that me and my family travelling with emirate air lines from bangalore/dubai/riyadh on 25 october by stop over let me know about special offer @ Burj Dubai for stay 4nighs.

  12. Hmmm… yeah I mean it’s certainly quite tall… I dunno. My friend Juan is in construction, he builds stuff, together I bet we could build one that’s just a little bit more awe inspiring and testamental to the mankinds astounding wonderfulness. I would not hesitate to easily spend like $80,000,000,000.00 on such a worthy project.

Plus also we have already built a beautiful deathstar in the furtherance of total peace-unity.

  13. Wow, this is definately an amazing building, I’m flabergasted. Mark my words everyone, I’m currently working on a 13 year Doctor of Architecture and Engineering with a Juris Doc. from Harvard University. I will make the tallest building in history along with a super modern city within the next 30-50 years. Mark my words and never forget this, ever.

Nah. What’s going to happen? It’s not like people ram planes into these things or anything. : /

Seriously though, no its not really any more dangerous than any other building above oh, I don’t know 20 stories or so. If anything I would suspect this one to be safer in that a marquis project such as this has a lot more scrutiny than your typical 20 story egg carton apartment building.

  15. Surely there must be a limit as to how pressure and stress steel and concrete can withstand….! I wouldn’t be caught working in that prospective death trap. Good luck, Amigos!

    • There is a limit to how high steel structures can be built, but that limit is not anywhere near being reached even in this project. The limiting factors to date for really tall buildings have not been the structural aspects themselves but livability issues. Things like how much space needs to be taken up by elevators and other mechanicals, how much does the structure sway in the breeze (seasickness in the desert would certainly be ironic). As solutions to these issues become available we push the envelope. Is it a good idea? Not sure. Is it safe? Likely.

  16. Mother Earth Says:

    Wow, an astonishment, beautiful, magnificent.
when i Mother Earth is being depleted, stupid ignorent selfish greedy fossil fuel savages decide to deplete me to build this and others, at least deplete me to save people :(………..god bless this world. i swear,

  17. When I see a building like this, I think earthquake. I you are at the top, you still have time to finish your prayer before hitting the ground.

  21. zahid baig Says:

ok the effort must be recognized but being muslims have we thought about the other muslims who are dying with hunger and starvation could the spending on this burg be the spending on those poor might have gained a lot. commercialism has indulged in the eyes of those who only visulaise the sky did not even bother to see the earth. i will say that the spendng is too much one billion dollars what we can utilize it to remove hunger and starvation. in my opinion it is asraf.
